Birth and Fresh 48

Carrying and giving birth to a tiny human is for most, their greatest achievement in life. Some births feel like a whirlwind experience and some feel like it will never end and then there's all the ones in between! I've given birth to four babies and feel I had different birthing experiences with them all. The one thing that was consistent though, looking back, was how invested I was in that experience, not once thinking about a snack, myself or anything else. My experience is all now just a memory from my own eyes.

As a photographer with children I know how quickly they change and grow up, I know how special and unique a parents bond is but I also know how quickly it all happens and in days consumed by day to day life, and memories after memories, it's so hard to keep it all fresh. We take photos at big events like birthday celebrations and weddings, We do this as a way to capture a memory and look back on for years to come. So why not births too?! Capturing a birth is not about just standing at the "business end" I aim to capture the time as it progresses and the emotions and the bond with your birthing partner.

It's essential that we either meet up or utilise video calls so that we can get to know each other a little and discuss what you'd like from your experience. This would give you a chance to get the answers to any questions you may have. I'm always happy to fully work with what you'd like and fully respect anything you may not like captured. At this time we can also discuss when you'd like me to be there and when you'd like me to leave after your birth.

Capturing the birth isn't for everyone, But maybe you would still like to capture the hospital setting and your baby at their teenie tiniest.  This is commonly referred to as "Fresh 48". For this I can come in as soon as you'd like to capture all those little details to look back on.
